25-5109 Jabiru
J230-D

The Jabiru J230-D
is a factory built certified aircraft which has
been developed as a touring aircraft. It has a wide
cockpit, high cabin, ample leg room & a big
baggage compartment in the back. It is the same
shape as the J430 but doesn't have rear seating. I
can be RAA or VH registered. The Horsham Flying
Club placed an order with Jabiru Aircraft Pty Ltd
in early 2007 and the aircraft was collected from
the Jabiru facility in Bundaberg, Queensland in
August 2007. The delivery flight involved two
aircraft with four club members flying to Bundaberg
in two 'Little' Jabiru's. All three aircraft
returned to Horsham Aerodrome on Thursday 16th
August after a flight of just over 10 hours spread
over two days. The aircraft has been fitted with a
tow hook in order for the club to use the aircraft
for glider towing. To this end the HFC sold its
Pawnee tug VH-TOJ in May 2007. Initial aerotowing
is expectected to begin late in August 2007.
