Notes

The Janus C is a two place, mid-wing sailplane of all fibreglass construction, and is a direct extension of the original Janus and Janus B. The Janus C has a fixed gear or retractable main gear option (bumper nose wheel, main wheel and conventional tail skid), large single piece canopy, slight forward sweep of the wings with small wing tip extensions, upper surface spoilers, and a tail drag chute. The principle difference between the original Janus B and the Janus C are the carbon fibre spar caps in the wings of the Janus C compared to the all fibreglass Janus and Janus B, the small wing tip extensions (with aileron extensions) to increase the span by 1.8 meters, and an all carbon tail (similar in design to the Janus B). Both self launched (Janus CM) and sustainer (Janus CT) engined options are available. Production began in March 1978. 'Victor X-Ray' is the most recent glider purchased by the WSC. It is now the clubs main advanced cross country training aircraft.
